Stood behind a moodily pretty guy in the Starbucks this morning. He was doing the blazer-and-carefully-slouchy-jeans thing, and he was doing it quite well. It's a certain kind of guy who goes about like that - not a bad kind, by any means, but a certain kind. His blazer collar was kinked up a bit and I wanted to fix it, but maybe he was doing it on purpose, as bait for the certain kind of woman who will fix a stranger's collar. Who knows. He had a really nice murse, though.
My kitchen smells like leeks; I plan to make leek and potato soup at some point over the next day or so. I was going to do it today, but foolishly also bought a sandwich at the deli, and thus undercut my need to make food at home. I also looked longingly at the pies on the pie stand - I never buy baked goods in stores, because I know I can just go bake them if I want them...but then I am too lazy to bake them. Which is probably a good thing, else I'd be a tad more roly-poly than I already am...but it's cold out, and I want to bake!
The wedding last night was lovely, as was the reception. First reception I've been to where there were also sharks in attendance. When I was in Ireland ages ago, I went to the tiny aquarium in the town I was in (tiny, but with Europe's only under-tank plexiglass tunnel, which was a cool way to see the fish). They had a little petting pool, which was full of little fish, and some smaller rays. The rays were wonderful - they loved to be petted, and would swim to the surface and flip their wings over to be stroked. The bottom of a rays wing is the softest thing.
