Bright and Shiny

Came home, got directly into the tub. Very luxurious hot bath, followed by lovely orange-scented lotioning, and other girlie nonsense. Also, reading a book and listening to Marketplace. Otto amused himself by climbing up on the stepstool I had my towel on, and threatening to throw himself into the bath. That would have ended poorly for both of us, so I dissuaded him.

Also, played around with dress for wedding (note: Not Wedding Dress). Straps are a tad too long and threaten to make the dress unfit for polite company. Perhaps can fix it with staples.

Now: takeout food, indlugent TV, and general laxness.

Also: I'd forgotten I knew what Bretton Woods was until tonight. Proud of me, [livejournal.com profile] kyriotate?

Why are you listening to Marketplace, other than to feel brilliant because you remember what Bretton Woods is? If problems with the market are more than just the business cycle, and there's really a change in how the financial world is functioning, then history tells us that whatever the government's doing it's not going to help and will probably hurt. Eventually it'll all be over, but worrying about it will only make it feel worse.

Also, I strongly disapprove of stapling your dress to yourself to keep it from being too low. That will hurt, and will get blood on it. Blood's hard to clean.

I've listened to Marketplace for years, because I enjoy economics and like having a clue. And I'm not going to staple the dress *to* me; I was going to shorten the straps a bit so they'd stay up. Staples are easier than sewing.

See you (both) at the wedding I hope!
