When I got home last night, there was no note to tell me not to use the shower. So I totally used the shower. And there's totally still a leak - the small, secondary leak they found when they fixed the primary, major leak. But it wasn't really a big deal; since they pulled out the ceiling in my closet to fix the leak, it just drips onto the closet floor (or rather, onto the towel I put there once I realized what was up). So, you know, no harm done. I am planning on showering with impunity, and on Monday, they'll come back and fix that leak too, so I can (in theory) close the ceiling back up. And fix the wall downstairs (the little note stuck to the wall says, "Don't use the shower yet" - it's from the Repair Round One). And then Tuesday, the roofer comes and tells me I need to get my skylight fixed. And someday, the sound of rain won't make me cringe anymore. Man, I used to love the rain....

Went to the optometrist today for the yearly checkup. Apparently, last year the dr (different one) told me I needed to see a specialist because there's some small risk that something might happen with some Narrow Angle in my eye, and I will Go Blind Instantly. Not quite sure how I totally forgot that conversation, but there you go. This time I will try and remember it, because I don't want to Go Blind Instantly, and apparently, they can punch a wee hole in my eye with a laser and pre-emptively fix the issue....which is sort of cool, in a creepy way. Though if I were blind, I would not have noticed my roof and pipe leaks, and I would sort of prefer that. Until my house fell down. Then I'd be blind and homeless, which is a situation I think should be avoided.

This is a house in the nice neighborhood that my neighborhood pretends to be part of. I love it because of the huge braziers out front. I imagine they light them for the orgies and lion vs bear fights they must have in the ballroom.

Yeah, that house is huge. A lot of the houses in the neighborhood are wicked big. Heck, even in the Poor Zone, I have a floor I don't use...:)
