Evening of Lights
Dec. 23rd, 2007 07:22 amIn honor of the shortest night of the year (which may have been yesterday, I'm never sure about solstices, but bear with me), I have lit candles in every room, and I have to say the place both looks, and smells lovely. If it snowed, that would be even better, but I don't think that's going to happen. Still, I am happy with this.
I decided the weasels are getting a Re-Gifting Xmas this year. Last year, they each got their own stocking full of mousies and toys, which they adorably hid, one by one, in all their hidey-holes, in the space of about eight minutes. I don't have the money to keep repeating this process for eight minutes' worth of amusement. So I spent about 20 minutes today, digging their existing toys out of all the hidden spots, and putting them in a big bag. Bright and early xmas morning, I will put the bag on the floor, and it will be like All New Mousies! Bless their short little memories.
Treated myself to smoked salmon and brie and apples for dinner - isn't food what the holidays are all about? Tomorrow, candy-making with a friend; Monday, roast chicken and asparagus. All nights, cherry pie. Glorious!
