Brought to you by the letter Whale and the number Eww
Today was the Expedition to Ikea, which went quite well. We very much liked the first couch we saw, and so bought it, along with two computer desks and one desk chair. I would link to them, but the person who cares the most about such things is in Neuvo Zeeland, or some wacky place, and so won't be looking I am sure. Suffice it to say they are all nice. It's all being delivered the Thursday after we move, which is perfect, though when you spend all that money and then walk out of the store with only a stuffed whale, it does feel a bit like you've gone wrong somewhere. But the whale is awesome!
At home, the packing goes onward. Today was also Clean the FerretRoom Closet Day, and that was unpleasant. Not because of the ferrets, but because of the mice. I mean, I knew we had mice, though I haven't seen any in a while, and I knew they would sometimes go in the ferrets' room. But the mice I had seen were tiny little things, which belied the sheer volume of Mouse Nastiness in the ferrets' closet, which I haven't been in since I moved in here. Eww. It's clean now, thank goodness.
Tomorrow, I will pack the kitchen, J. will do the remainder of the bedroom and all his books, and I may tackle the storage closet. The bathroom and ferret room are clean, and they were the most in need of it, so that's done. I moved clothes over today, and will move various small boxes tomorrow, rather than pack boxes in boxes, which is just Wrong. Monday, I call to get cable internet (since the phone people still haven't figured out if I can have phone service at the new house). Tuesday, the tv and probably the computers go over, and Wednesday is the move. That's....not long at all.

Wait a damned minute ...
If you need any help putting the Ikea furniture together, let me know. There something about putting Ikea furniture together that I find viscerally satisfying.
