So, about three months ago, I got summoned to Japan, to do some work for my old friend Michiko. She's got a high-rise apartment in the shiny part of town, and I spent a lot of time there, doing whatever needed to be done. We usually got up at about five in the evening, and never went out until after midnight, but that was okay, because that's when all the best people are out. I fell in love with a pair of boots made out of cellophane and suede, and wore them everywhere, even to bed, though nobody seemed to mind that. The job paid a lot, but I lost it all when I bet that it would be faster to travel down a laundry chute smeared with bacon grease, instead of hair gel. Boy was I wrong! But Michiko was good enough to pay for my plane ticket most of the way back, and I picked up some odd jobs in San Francisco to get the rest of the way. So, if I haven't talked to you in a while, sorry about that. Michiko had Internet access, of course, but she was always on it, running her online stuffed animal cage-match business....and when she wasn't, we were typically too drunk to type.
