Blatantly stolen from [livejournal.com profile] morfydd:

CD's I own that you don't -
Billy Nayer Show: The American Astronaut - Soundtrack to the most offbeat, black and white space cowboy opera ever. Indescribeable and weirdly wonderful.

Venus Diablo: Venus Diablo - Defunct Albuquerque jazz/folk/rock combo with a very very sexy academically bald lead singer.

Books I own that you don't-
Slavomir Rawicz: The Long Walk - The true story of a man who escaped from a Soviet prison camp in 1941, in Siberia, and walked to safety in India. Not as boring as it sounds.

Emma Donoghue: Hood - It sounds depressing - the story follows the first week or so after a woman loses her girlfriend in a car accident. But it's really very good.

Movie I own that you don't-
Hard Core Logo - Best Canadian rock and roll roadtrip movie ever. Seriously. And no, it's not the only Canadian rock and roll roadtrip movie. There are, like, three. At least.

I feel more awesome and elitist by the second.

I was pretty sure you had it...and the books I lent you, so you've read them. We're becoming more and more the same person everyday. *wishes real hard* Nope, not in Oz yet....

*wishes hard too* Nope you are not here. Damn. But yeah the psychic connection is still in place. Love that movie.

PS Couldn't find the Lush place in Adelaide. Not fallen over the Sydney one yet either and I know damn well there is one here.

no lush!

[livejournal.com profile] geekalpha has been trying to get me to read The Long Walk for a while now. I have a somewhat lower tolerance for bleak military stuff than he does, though, ::grin::

Another album that didn't make my list was Kleskevania by the Plaid-Tongued Devils, which is, I kid you not, a klezmer ska goth rock opera about the love triangle between an aristocrat, a prostitute, and the devil. I couldn't list it because at least three other people I know now have it, because it's just so good.

Oh, and I was just in Victoria, BC, last weekend - if I'd known you wanted Lush stuff I'd have checked with you first...

Their bath bombs are lovely, but I've given up on their soaps - my skin doesn't react well at all.

books and music

The Long Walk is bleak, but also cool in a triumph-of-the-human-spirit sort of way. But yes, bleak...:)

Kleskevania, eh? I'll keep an ear open for it.

Lush!

I am so very fond of Lush, though I have to say I get it less sicne they opened up stores in the US, and therefore made it harder for me to order from canada with the wonderful exchange rate...:)

And as for my Lush-abroad quest...one of my friends lived in Oz for a couple of years, and sent me a pic (god knows why) of herself in front of the Adelaide Lush. So I, of course, have it in a frame, and was hoping for a collection of Lushes Abroad. So if you want to have a pic taken of yourself in front of the next Canadian Lush you get to, I'll put it up....:)
